So how did it all begin?

Kalibandulu is a project builded by Rebel T , the founder of the crew,and thanks to his big vinyl’s collection in  1999 Kalibandulu started to make the first parties in Milan.

How many people in Kalibandulu?

Right now our crew is composed by Rebel T the founder of everything, DjMoiz the producer and selecta of Kalibandulu, DonLeo toaster and DjFast.

Where did the name come from?

Nuff to seh ahah….Kali Bandulu……just image! Let’s say That we found our First sound Money in da Bush!!! That’s why Kali… Bandulu because we are not so raccomanded People…

What gave you that initial push?

In the beginning Rebel T started buy 45″ only for Personal use as a collector. Than the biggest sound system of ’90s , Bass Fi Mass , asked Him to open some of Them dance, year by year the sound Grown up And when Rebel T met DjMoiz And DjFast With Them pure juggling style, everything began what KaliBandulu is now… Pure Energy.

Did the Djing, Production, Promoting come 1st?

In the beginning we started as a funny joke, but now is a real work. I think in Life is important to do what you really like, so we are Very lucky. Dj’ing is our Life,  and so come first, promoting is funny Too because we can meet lots of sounds, in our productions we put in Knowledge comes from our experiences done mixed With our feelings.

Who’s throwing the best parties at the moment?

It’s Very difficult to say who is the best right now… Reggae music nowadays is played in the Big cities but in the countries too…and every Dancehall is Special. I have to say That in summertime Nothing is like Salento…every night is a party on the seaside Till morning lights, lots of Big live concerts, events, people comes from All Europe.

Which other countries have you played/put parties on?

We played in quite All Europe from the East to the West, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Sweden. But Oslo in USA – Miami.

What was the first event you ever played at/put on?

The First one Was in the baddest club in Italy called Bomboclaat in Pergola tribe in Milan. I remember that Was a Real amazing night…

What’s the best event you’ve played at/put on?

Impossible to say… Every Dancehall for us is the Best!

What was your first record you bought?

My First record i got Was Jacob Killer Miller. He Was for me what Bob Marley is for the 99% of People who listen to reggae music.

Out of all the tunes you have, which one ‘never fails?’

Sizzla – Nah apologies in dubplate Special is a Safe forward Pull up every time!!!

What’s you favorite tune of all time?

Nothing like Dennis Brown – revolution!

When all the partying is over how do you like to chill out?

Joint in my right hand, beer in my left hand, laughing about happened during the dance and why not some Gyals on the sofà!

So how is the scene in your eyes at the moment?

In Italy is still growing, we are the second generation of the Italian sound systems, And like we there are some others crew playing Allover Europe. We bring our Style everywhere, no Matter if the yard is not so Big to know every New production released in Jamaica, we want everyone knows that reggae music is still on the top!

Where do you live?

We are splitted because Rebel T Lives in Milan, And Moiz Leo And Fast live in Salento in the south. This is funny because we meet when we have to play, And we put our happiness to see each other again in our live performances… Pure madness.

Do yu still play vinyl?

Yes, the Old man Rebel T can play only vinyls… Cdjs And serato are Too complicated for Him!!! But in His selections, when he play, you can hear some hit you never ever heard before, As his collection is made by more than 17’000 Seven inches…

Funniest thing that ever happened at an event?

Lots of… Quite every time we are stopped by Police. You can imagine what we do every time to hide our ganja from dem!!!

Other Disc Jockeys you rate?

We put lighter inna di Air for Black Chiney, Copper Shot, Mighty Crown, Eccentrix, Major Lazer, Sentinel, Bass Odissey, Jugglaz, Tony Matterhorn, Jaro And Ricky Troopa.

What are your feelings on the dancehall/reggae artistes?

Sometimes we meet And the feeling is strong Just from the beginning, other Times we’d like to kill dem! It depend who we have to work With, we give Everything we know And we have because we Believe in what we are doing, but sometimes Artists think dem ah like God, And so we do what we have to do…than Go suck ur muma!!! Almost of Times we become Good friends.

What do you do outside of the dancehall music scene?

We do some Little Works only for raise up money to put inside our project in reggae music. Kali Bandulu is our Life.

What advice would you give to up and coming DJs/Promoter?

If you Believe in what you are doing, be strong everything happen, OF course begining is full of hard Works for few Money, but if you can fall And rise stronger than before, reggae music will Pay you twice you gave.
