photo_11914_oThere were quite a number of what one might call unusual beauty treatments already making their way known in the world. One of these was what they call Huǒ liáo or the fire facial which originated in China. Obviously, it is one weird and probably very prone to accident procedure that a person could do to his or her body.

It was learned that the process of the said facial, included soaking a towel in both an alcohol and a reportedly secret elixir. The said soaked towel was put on the customer’s body part—face and/or arms and/or legs and/or back, etc. After this, it was lit on fire for just a few seconds and then put out by placing another towel, which was probably soaked in water, on top of it.

The reason behind why the makers of this process believed that it would work in treating skin problems like wrinkles, skin sagging and fine lines, was that the extreme heat that the burning caused could alter one’s body chemistry brought by adrenaline response. Thus, stimulating the skin to treat the said skin problems.
