[Video] Yummy! Genetically modified salmon available soon at your local grocer

A 60 day public hearing was initiated by the FDA for public feedback concerning a new kind of genetically modified salmon fish. This is the first time the US Food and Drug Administration is considering to make this kind of product legal. The salmon gets injections of ormons that make possible to see a faster growth. The decision worries all the people who are still protesting for something they think it’s uneatable. Plus there’s is a complain from Oregon fishermen who think their business will sink down. Aqua Advantage – the trademark for the genetically modified salmon developed by Aqua Bounty, a biotechnology company – said they will reproduce the salmon in an encapsulated farming environment that will not pose a threat to the native fish. They also said their altered fish (or “frankenfish” as it is called now) poses no health risks to the environment; they are disease resistant and very safe to consume. Consumers are still fighting for the idea of having doped fish in their local shops.
