Vybz Kartel Lawyers Demand Bail After Trial Delays

Vybz Kartel legal team is prepared to go all out to secure bail for the embattled dancehall star.

Kartel’s lawyers made another attempt yesterday in the Supreme Court to secure bail for the deejay who has been behind bars since September of 2011.

The judge has not made a decision yet on whether to grant the former Portmore Empire head temporary freedom in relation to the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.

Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, secured bail last year in relation to the murder of Barrington “Bossie” Burton. But remained locked up because he was unable to secure bail in relation to Clive Williams murder charge.

Kartel trial was scheduled to begin last month but failed to get off the ground due to insufficient amount of juror. His new trial date is set for May 27.

Fans of the deejay are protesting what they called an unfair treatment by the legal system.

“Try him or bail him,” one fan said.
