Vybz Kartel ready for the greatest battle of his life.
Embattled dancehall star Vybz Kartel and his co-accused returns to court on Monday January 21st, where they will begin their defense on two murder charges.
Sources close to the former Portmore Empire boss told UrbanIslandz.com that he has been preparing himself mentally for a tough legal showdown.
“Without any doubt Kartel know that it will be a tough legal battle because there are so many people and things against him,” the source, who regularly visit Vybz Kartel in jail, said.
“He is prepared mentally because if your not firm the system can break you down and that’s what they want,” they source added. “They have been putting off the case over and over because they know Addi innocent and they are just trying to find more things to try sink him. But when the smoke clear Teacha will be freed.”
Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was arrested on September 30, 2011 in Kingston on a marijuana possession charge. But a few days later things took a turn for the worse for the deejay. Jamaican law enforcement raided several homes believed to be owned by Kartel and seize several equipments including laptops and an illegal firearm.
He was later charged with murdering dancer Clive “Lizard” Williams” and promoter Barrington “Bossie” Burton.
Police later picked up several associates of Vybz Kartel on same murder charges including protege Shawn “Storm” Campbell and stylist Calvin “Moonie” Haye.
